The ISO organization made major revisions to the ISO 14064 standard at the end of 2018, aiming to guide companies to comprehensively assess the impact of greenhouse gases and report carbon reduction results. The ISO 14064 organizational greenhouse gas inventory standard can be applied to various industries, including manufacturing, OEM, service industry, etc.
ISO 14064 is divided into three parts, covering different levels of greenhouse gas management and reporting. The differences between the three can be clearly seen through the figure above.
- ISO 14064-1 : Organization 's GHG emissions and absorption within the scope of operations. ISO has clear standards and guidelines to enable organizations to follow GHG inventory and documentation methods.
- ISO 14064-2 : Project planned emission reduction and absorption of GHG projects. Including plan writing > confirmation report > registration of offset project > group meeting > registration approval > monitoring report > verification report > group meeting > resolution > approval of issuance of reduction quota.
- ISO 14064-3 Verification and validation of greenhouse gases . The process of verifying or validating a GHG statement.
